There’s something truly magical about winter weddings in the Swan Valley – the crisp air, moody skies, and lush green vines make for an incredibly romantic setting. This year’s Swan Valley Winter Wedding Expo captured that magic perfectly, and I was lucky enough to be a part of it at two wonderful venues, Pinelli Estate Winery Restaurant being one of them.
Held bi- annually, Swan Valley Wedding Expo is a must-attend for couples planning their dream day. It’s a completely free event that opens the doors to some of the region’s most stunning venues, and gives couples the chance to meet with talented local wedding vendors – florists, stylists, celebrants, bakers, musicians, photographers (like me!) and more – all in one day. It’s like a wedding planning treasure hunt, but with wine and cake!
Pinelli Estate looked absolutely beautiful, dressed to impress with elegant styling that highlighted the venue’s charm. The restaurant was set up to give couples a real sense of what a Pinelli Estate wedding could look like, with the most beautiful reception styling I have ever seen. With views over the vines, delicious catering, and a warm, intimate atmosphere, it’s no surprise Pinelli is a favourite among Perth couples.
Pinelli’s in-house catering is a highlight in itself – with some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. Yvonne, and her teams, menu is just one of the many reasons couples fall in love with a Pinelli Estate Wedding.
Of course, the event wouldn’t have been complete without an amazing group of fellow wedding professionals. Here’s a quick look at the talented team who helped bring the day to life:
- Getz Hire – WOW! Ana’s reception styling display was show stopping! Romantic, dramatic, breath taking is how I would describe it. With carefully curated details that brought out the beauty of the venue. The deep reds and greens worked so well with the romantic wood look that fills Pinelli Estate’s restaurant. Ana’s work creates cohesive, romantic atmospheres that truly elevate a space. Any one that manages to book Ana for their event styling will have their guests talking about their event for decades.
- Cake and Cookie House – Their stunning display of custom cakes and cookies had everyone stopping for a closer look (and a sample!). Their stand was incredibly busy with the GIANT Pavlova being standout for me! I imagine the Cake and Cookie House will be booking out from the event, so get your bookings in quick. I was situated next to their stand and between the smell of Cake and Cookie House’s delights and Pinelli’s kitchen my tummy was rumbling with anticipation. Anyone that attended the event must have been hit with a delight of smells. It was like smelling the best dinner and desert all in one.
- Vows by Val – Val is a warm, down-to-earth celebrant who makes every ceremony feel deeply personal and joyful. Her relaxed energy is perfect for couples who want a meaningful, love-filled ceremony. Her Irish accent is definitely a winner too!
- Sonic Entertainment – Setting the vibe for the day with great tunes, this entertainment team knows how to bring the party. DJs, MCs, live entertainers lighting – they’ve got your dance floor covered.
- Pauline Pascual – Weddings and Events – Pauline’s entrance styling was gorgeous. Soft, elegant and flowy.
- Diamond Class Limousines – Talk about arriving in style! Their gleaming wedding cars are perfect for couples wanting luxury transport for their big day.
- Cloud Imagery – Fellow visual storytellers capturing every laugh, tear, and magical moment. Their videography and photo booth was a huge hit with guests.
- Larger Than Lights – Their statement light-up letters add a fun, bold touch to any wedding décor – from “LOVE” signs to custom initials, it’s all about big impact and photo-worthy moments.
- Harvest Hire & Style – Their hire range blended rustic elegance and modern romance, helping couples visualise how to dress their ceremony and reception spaces with style. The gorgeous display at the expo was to die for. The furniture was quality, so well kept and made quite the statement.
- Hannah’s Melodies – The live music provided by Hannah gave the day a beautiful soundtrack, perfect for ceremony entrances or laid-back cocktail hours.
As a wedding photographer, I love meeting newly engaged couples face to face, hearing about their vision for the big day, and showing them how I can help capture it all naturally and beautifully. These expos are such a valuable opportunity to connect beyond a screen – and for couples, it’s a chance to see if we’re the right fit!
